The original plan for today was sleeping in, visiting Chinatown, and spending the rest of the afternoon working on my lab notebook and my lab report. Sadly, only one of those things ended up happening today.
I woke up around 6:30 AM, got ready, and begin working on my lab report. Crystal and I had planned to get the intro done in the morning but it was actually harder than we thought it would be. After starting the report’s introduction and realizing how time-consuming it was, I was doubtful of my ability to be able to finish any of my work if I went to Chinatown. Although it is a given that schoolwork comes first, my plan was to make it off campus during the weekend since during the week I do not have time to do so. Most of my time has been spent doing work for class and trying to understand some of the more difficult concepts we were taught so I have not had much time to relax. I was looking forward to the weekend to get to do this but, because I only have three weeks to learn all of the material, there is very little downtime. After giving it some thought, and consulting Don, I decided to focus solely on my studies today.

With that being said, Crystal and I spent a couple hours in the morning looking for articles and beginning the drafting of the introduction for our paper. Soon after, she was off to Chinatown while I stayed behind and took a small nap before continuing to work.
After working for a bit in my dorm room, I decided to move into the lounge area of my house and work there. In the lounge, I encountered Olivia who was studying for a test she would have on Tuesday in her course, Biotechnology. We studied alongside each other for a while. It really helped to have Olivia there while I worked on my paper. She was super nice and even took time away from her studying to help me with a few questions I had about the format of my paper since she had some experience with them.
Around 7:00 PM, I took a break from working and went to dinner. Afterward, I returned to work with Crystal on the paper again.
In the end, I am glad I made the decision to work on my paper all day today because I would not have been able to get as much done if I had not done so. Tomorrow in class we will learn more about what to include in the paper so I look forward to getting even more done.
