[MSJ] - Day 4: Making New Friends

Our house lounge (pretend it's taken in the morning)
I slept really well in my dorm last night. Maybe because I was still exhausted because of the relatively fast-paced sightseeing we had been doing, maybe because I got to bed earlier or maybe because I finally unpacked the pillow I had brought with me. Either way, I woke up without an alarm for the first time on the trip at 7:40. About half an hour later Isaac and I went to the University gym that's about 2 minutes away from our dorms. Afterward, we went back up to our dorms to shower, and then ate a good breakfast in the dining room.

As was scheduled, we had group activities with our houses at 10. We went out to the quad and played some icebreaker games like a Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament where when you lost you had to become a hypeman for the person that beat you, Mafia and some others. After a couple of hours we were released, and Shreejal and I grabbed lunch with some other people from our floor, Jeffrey, who is taking the same contagious disease class as Kayla, and Ethan, who is studying bioengineering, as well as Vince, a commuter student who lives in New York but is staying with his cousin in Chicago.

A nice mural right outside the Target
We then went to the Target near campus to pick up some items we needed/wanted for our dorms. I wanted a mirror and large gallon jug to hold water (the water fountain isn't super close to my room), and I ended up also buying a nice glass after seeing it was on sale for $2.

After I came back I finished my reading for tomorrow so I wouldn't end up doing it late tonight. I also began writing my blog for the day for the same reason. I tidied up my room and relaxed for a bit afterward. I spent the rest of the afternoon playing cards and chilling with people from my house, and listening to the presentation about public transportation from the RAs. I also did my first load of laundry, primarily due to me sitting in maybe ice cream yesterday, and spilling food on my shorts today. Off to a great start!

The laundry room
I went with a bunch of people from my house to all grab dinner together, and then we went to Target one more time to pick up some items that I forgot (Febreze) some other things that people needed.

Today was a much more relaxing day, but tomorrow is the first day of class. I'm excited; the textbook readings have been really interesting so far, I learned that the real definition of Economics doesn't involve money but is simply explained as the study of how people make choices. I can't wait to learn more and start my class.
