T-Minus Four Hours

It's been a long wait, but now it's finally here. Only four hours remain until I leave my house for the next three or so weeks. I'm excited, but still a bit weary, as I just returned from an amazing(ly exhausting) summer camp and am a bit sleep-deprived. I look forward to getting a lot of sleep on the flight, and am still wondering why I've chosen to embark on such a tiring mission.

I'm not exactly the type to get homesick, but as I look around the house, I definitely am going to miss it. My family and my dog are always great company, and it is a bit sad that I have to leave them again just as I was saying hello. However, I do still plan on emailing, texting, and/or writing letters to them all.
Jack, my dog.
The one part I am slightly nervous about is the whole business of traveling on the airplane. I do fly a lot, but it is always with the company of my parents, who are generally more careful than I about not losing important documentation and the like. It is nice, though, to practice dealing with such responsibilities, as I will have to do so for the rest of my adult life.

My packing list was nothing outside of the ordinary, with the usual clothes and toiletries, pencils and paper, computer and chargers, and the like. For entertainment, I brought the A Song of Ice and Fire series, my phone, a pack of cards, and of course a disc. My checked baggage clocked in at roughly 35 pounds, well below the 50 pound max. I'm all set. See you on the other side (of the United States).
